A first return visit to a local art gallery in Calgary since COVID-19 hit; went to the Esker Foundation Gallery to see the now non-interactive Katie Ohe exhibition https://eskerfoundation.com/exhibition/current/

The wall pieces in this image reminded us of the grounding practice of being a vessel on the earth and journeying down in the the earth below through imaginary roots, mycelium, energetic communications in the subtle realm. This photo taken by one of the gallery staff, was initiated by Michael as he thought there was some historical moment here of having to wear masks and be partial, in equivalent censoring as Ohe’s kinetic works having to be non-touchable and censored; all this relates to the theme of making art and sharing it in these challenging times of the pandemic and who knows what else will be upon us in the future that changes our ‘normal’ ways of interrelating in the world.
